It started over a beer in Guangzhou.
How it began
Jörgen and Thomas had both seen the same problem from different angles — businesses getting burned by suppliers they couldn't verify, paying middlemen they didn't know existed, and receiving shipments that looked nothing like what they ordered.
Guangzhou has a way of making things feel possible. Surrounded by the energy of one of the world's great manufacturing cities, the frustration that had been building for years suddenly had a clear answer.
The problem wasn't China. China's factories are extraordinary. The problem was the layer of opacity sitting between Western businesses and those factories — the middlemen, the broken communication, the zero accountability.
So we decided to tear that layer down.
Not with another marketplace. Not with another supplier directory. But with verified sourcing agents, real Chinese legal contracts, and a platform built around one simple idea — you should be able to see everything that's happening with your order, at every step, in real time.
We finished our beers, opened a laptop, and started building.
Mila Sourcing was born that night in Guangzhou.

We didn't start this company to be brokers or middlemen. We built it because we experienced the "black box" of Chinese manufacturing firsthand — watching serious entrepreneurs lose capital to unverified factories, fail at scale due to sloppy QC, and get their IP stolen because of useless contracts.
